The organization of skisport in California was to a large extent the result of an effort to attract the 1932 Winter Olympics. The National Ski Association (NSA) gave the sanction to the California State Chamber of Commerce to organize the California Ski Association (CSA). There were three meetings on October 7, 1930 that started it all.
