Skiing is a sport with inherent risks. Common sense and personal awareness can help reduce any risks. Let's be safe and minimize those risks. It may save you or someone else.
The slopes are often enjoyed in many ways. Today we see skis, snowboards, telemark ski, cross country ski, snow shoes, ski bikes, and devices used by the physically challenged. Regardless of how you decide to enjoy the slopes, always show respect to others.

Always stay in control.
You should be able to stop to avoid people or objects.

People ahead of you have the right of way.
It is your responsibility to avoid them.

Stop in a safe place for you and others.
Stop off to the side of a run where you won't obstruct a trail and are still visible to those above you.

Whenever starting downhill or merging, look uphill and yield.

Use devices to help prevent runaway equipment.

Observe ALL signs and warnings.
Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas. Enter the backcountry through open gates.

Know how to use the lifts safely. You must have knowledge and ability to safely load, ride, and unload any lift before using.

Do not use the slopes if you are under the influence.
