Ski Area Development in Our Forests

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and the illustration below speaks volumes. Most of our US Forest is located west of the Continental Divide -- where we do the majority of our skiing and snowboarding.

As you might imagine, the west faces different problems from the rest of the nation because most of their ski areas are on public lands and hence use is dictated to by the US Forest Service and the public.
