2005 Convention Golf

On Friday, June 10, 2005, a morning filled with June gloom, 70 intrepid golfers attacked Long Beach's Recreation Park golf course. Eighteen teams of ski industry and ski club golfers vied for prizes and bragging rights- both for team and individual glory.

After 5 hours of outstanding competition, the following teams ascended the proverbial victory platform:

• 1st place – Justin Davis, Norm Kreutz (Silver Star), Bob Warzynski, and Debbie Warzynski.
  
  
• 2nd place – Libby Arrigo, Brandon Bang (Big Sky), Val Clem and Eric Thompson (Salt Lake City CVB).
  
  
• 3rd place – Denny Bartlett (Ski Big 3), Bob Ellis, Adam Feehan (Mt. Bachelor), and Wanda Ross.

Not to be intimidated by these contestants, the team of Norm Cullen (past president of FWSA), Casey Green (Steamboat), Dennis Heffley (BAC president) and Gwen Thompson (Silver Star) were awarded the prestigious DFL title.

Individual honors went to Norm (Gorilla) Kreutz and Linda (Gooch) Yamaguchi for winning the longest drive contest and to Laura Cuddie (Destination Rockies), Woody Hogan, and Kurt Schroeder (Sportours) for nestling their tee shots closest to the hole. Congratulations!

Many thanks go to the people who helped make this year's tournament so enjoyable. Heading the list is this year's sponsor Snowbasin Ski Area, represented so ably by Cyd Heatherly. Thanks also to Rick Malin, Jack Miller and Jacquie Nemor for their assistance. One final thank you to M.C. & Harry Eastman and to Gene Fulkerson for donating additional prizes.
