Pacific Rim believes in giving back to our ski community.
Can Do MS
Since we were founded, we have supported Can Do MS (formerly The Heuga Center for MS). Can Do MS is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with multiple sclerosis through educational and wellness programs and ongoing research. The organization offers several programs for those with MS. For the past fifteen years we have raised money by hosting a Wine Maker Dinner. To date we have raised more than $36,000.
On May 10, 2014, Catherine Ohl led Pac Rim on the beach at Oceanside’s CoastFest to participate in a clean up endeavor. It’s hard to believe that over 350 pounds of trash was collected. It was back breaking work and made even more so since most of what we picked up was cigarette butts. We plan to make this an annual event.
Vertical Express for MS
Many of us have participated in the Vertical Express for MS raising an $350 for Can Do MS. Over the years we have raced in Snow Summit, CA, Big Sky, MT; Steamboat, CO and Squaw Valley, CA.
Ski & Ride for a Cure “Vertical Tracking Challenge”
New this year was the Ski & Ride for a Cure “Vertical Tracking Challenge” This is a nationwide season-long vertical tracking competition that runs through May 4, 2016 and supports the American Cancer Society. We plan to be more involved in the future. See HOTS for more information.
